Bambini of Bend :: Our Story


	I love darling kid’s clothes! I also am completely absorbed in motherhood in all of its complexity. My life revolves around clothing, carrying, playing with and feeding my kids. When my family moved to Bend from Eugene five years ago, I searched for a place to go for really cute clothes and eco-conscious toys and gear. I couldn’t find one place for all of that. There was no-where in town to get the all-in-one cloth diapers I preferred. If I needed a new sling, I had to find it online or pick it up on my next trip back to Eugene or Portland. With two kids in car seats, this was not a practical solution.

So, I decided to create my own solution! I opened exactly the store I wanted for myself. It wasn’t a totally self-centered decision, of course. As my Central Oregon friendship network grew, I met many parents here who were starving for a one-stop-shop for high quality children’s clothing and child rearing gear of all kinds, at reasonable prices. The more I talked with others here, the more excited I became to provide not only the products they desired but also a place to go for advice, ideas and exploration of new parenting domains. It was that excitement that drove the birth of Bambini of Bend.

I want Bambini to be the place people think to come for ideas, product expertise, and support for the adventure of parenting. We want your kids to touch the toys here, we want you to practice wearing your sling here, we want to share with you the great ideas we’ve gathered from other parents, in our own research and from our parenting experience. Please consider us a resource beyond and outside of our products. We do sell products; our real goal, though, is to make parenting easier and more fun for you.


	Parenting is a huge part of my life – as it is for all parents. Also like most parents, parenting is only one part of my list of goals as a human being and member of this community. My favorite thing about owning and operating Bambini is that we are able to contribute to our community in so many ways. We donate to many local causes and we regularly post signs for relevant community events, classes and workshops. We are very proud of the large inventory of locally hand-crafted items we carry in the store. *Our goal at Bambini is to make a measurable positive contribution* to the lives of people living in Central Oregon as often as we can**.
